Broadband With a Plan

Power lines

Problem

We are seeing an unprecedented push to close the digital divide, especially in rural America. Federal subsidies are largely in place. Immediate action will be taken – without a plan, at least at the local governance level. Communities will therefore lose the opportunity to mitigate risk within these newly created broadband networks, largely driven by the non-competitive nature of these buildouts.

Solution

Timbalier has partnered with Lit Communities, an innovative builder and operator of last mile broadband across the nation. Under Lit’s approach, communities are able to separate ownership of infrastructure from the actual services to ensure fair market access for the providers, and a consumer-friendly suite for the community. Together, Timbalier and Lit are helping local governments develop these networks with a plan. A plan that protects the customer, long-term.
